On May 13, Liao Guifang, an undergraduate student from the Class of 2023 majoring in Sports Training at Fujian Normal University (FNU), delivered an outstanding performance at the 2025 Asian Weightlifting Championships. Competing in the women’s 76kg category, Liao achieved a remarkable feat by breaking two world records and securing three gold medals.
Liao lifted 125kg in the snatch and 154kg in the clean and jerk, setting a new world record with a total lift of 279kg. Her extraordinary performance not only earned her the top spot in all three events but also showcased her strength and determination on the international stage.
